Council approves ambulance billing contract for Greenfield Fire Department

The Greenfield Common Council approved an ambulance billing agreement between Paramedic Billing Services and the Greenfield Fire Department.

City officials described the new contractor as professional. The mayor and alderpersons said the emergency medical billing industry has seen many changes and that the selected vendor appeared to have expertise to help the department manage billing. Alderperson Kastner moved the motion and council approved it by roll call.

Council members did not discuss contract dollar amounts on the public record at the meeting; the item was presented as a standard municipal services contract expected to streamline billing operations for the fire department.

The contract will be implemented by fire department staff and procurement procedures; staff will return to council with any further contract amendments or operational changes that require council action.
