Supervisor thanks emergency responders after Victory Mill fire; board offers condolences for former supervisor Preston Jenkins

At the June 17 meeting of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors, Supervisor Murray thanked local fire departments and county staff for their response to the Victory Mill fire on May 31 and June 1.

Murray said more than 12 fire companies assisted and that over 100 firefighters were on the scene; he added there were no accidents during the response. He specifically thanked County Administrator Bolger for offering county assistance, Sheriff Zurlo for contacting him on the weekend, and Mike Stanley for being on scene for nearly two days.

Separately, the board noted the passing of former Supervisor Preston Jenkins of the town of Monroe. The chair said Jenkins was first elected in February 2008 and served for eight years; the board offered condolences to Jenkins’s family. Pastor Jason Proctor of the United Methodist Church of Ballston Spa was present and delivered a prayer during the meeting.
