Warren County recognizes long-serving Cornell Cooperative Extension staff

John Poe of Cornell Cooperative Extension recognized two long-serving Extension employees at the Warren County Board meeting: Michelle Baker, marking 20 years with the office, and Roxanne Westcott, who has served about 19 years and is retiring.

Poe said Baker is frequently the "person you speak to when you call our office," works primarily with 4-H programming, and is a strong advocate for the Campership program, which Poe said is funded by the county and sends dozens of children to SkyFarm Camp each year. "She has been strongly supporting 4-H progressive youth, all of our data entry, and the campership program," Poe said.

Poe said Westcott has worked primarily in parenting programs and acted as a connector among agencies providing parenting services. He added Westcott also filled in as a nutrition educator when needed and helped lead financial counseling or coaching through volunteers. "In those 19 plus years, she's contributed to a variety of different programs who have strengthened families," Poe said.

The board acknowledged the employees' service; the item was a recognition and included no formal board action.
