The Finance Committee on June 25 approved Amendment 1 to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Metro Flood Diversion Authority and several North Dakota water resource districts.
Legal counsel Tim Shockley (recorded as Mr. Shockley) described the amendment as an update adding one additional crossing and identifying that the authority will be responsible for reviewing reimbursement requests from the districts for cleanup and repairs resulting from project operations. "This reflects where the project is moving to looking at operations and maintenance issues and so it's a pretty small amendment," Shockley said.
Committee members moved and seconded the amendment and the motion passed by roll call. The approved amendment clarifies operations-and-maintenance responsibilities and the process for districts to seek reimbursement for damages tied to project operations.
