Council approves annual and temporary liquor licenses, denies one operator application

On July 15 the Watertown Common Council approved a slate of liquor- and event-related licenses. The council granted a Class B malt and liquor license to Score Sports Bar LLC doing business as The Riff Dive Bar (agent Jamie Elsah) for the licensing year July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. Alderman Bartz moved the motion and it was seconded by Alderman Berg; voice votes approved the application.

The council also approved temporary Class B beer and wine licenses for community events including: the Marine Corps League annual picnic (Aug. 23, 2025), the Watertown Catholic Parish picnic (Aug. 17, 2025), and permits for the ninth annual Wine Walk (Sept. 25, 2025) covering several downtown businesses and venues listed in the packet. Motion makers and seconders were recorded for each item and the council approved them by voice vote.

Separately, the council moved to deny an operator's license for Don A. Patzer. Alderman Lampe moved to deny based on Category 5; Alderman Moldenhauer seconded and the council recorded the denial.

Motions and approvals were routine and recorded in the meeting minutes; denials and conditions were recorded where specified on applicants' packets.
