Lake Taylor High School held a summer-school graduation for the class of 2025, with roughly 50 students receiving diplomas, Norfolk Public Schools said.
Former Norfolk Public Schools teacher of the year Clayton Singleton offered words of encouragement to the graduates prior to the diploma presentations. One graduate, speaking after the ceremony, described the achievement as hard-won: "I feel good. I mean, it was a challenge, but, like, I got through it. I had my family by my side the whole time." Another graduate said finishing made them feel they "can do so much more," and a third described tears of joy after completing summer and evening coursework to earn a diploma.
The district's summary material noted some graduates had transferred from other states and completed additional coursework in summer or evening school to finish requirements. Norfolk Public Schools posts video stories and additional divisionwide information on its website and social channels.
