Barrington board OKs consent agenda including public-safety terminals, Comcast fiber and 2025 reclamation contract

The Barrington Village Board approved the consent agenda at its July 14 meeting, authorizing a package of routine purchases, contracts and land-use items by omnibus vote.

Items approved on the consent agenda included: the purchase of 10 mobile terminals and associated hardware for the public safety department; a contract with Comcast Business for installation of fiber internet services and related equipment at four village locations; an amendment to Title 3 (business license regulations) of the Barrington Village Code; an award of contract to Corrective Asphalt Materials for the 2025 reclamation project; approval of a zoning variation (REZBA25‑02) for a fence to be installed within required corner side‑yard setbacks at 821 South County Drive; and a certificate of appropriateness (ARC25‑4) for 625 South Grove Avenue.

A motion to place the listed matters on the consent agenda was moved and seconded; the board approved the consent items by roll-call omnibus vote. The roll call recorded all members as voting yes and the consent agenda was approved without individual discussion of the items.

The board did not discuss specific contract amounts, modification details to Title 3 beyond the general amendment description, or technical terms of the Comcast installation at the meeting.
