Rutland staff withhold warning of Wellstown plan over hearing-process concerns

Staff told the Executive Finance Committee Monday that the Wellstown plan was not warned for the community committee because of concerns about the town’s hearing process.
The executive director said the town is contesting staff’s view that required hearing steps were not followed and that staff are encouraging the town to go through the hearing process again. “We are not we didn't warn it for the community committee because they had some issues with their hearing process. The town is sort of arguing that they did it right, and we don't think that they did,” the executive director said.
Committee members were told staff are reviewing the situation and will follow up with the town. No formal action or vote was taken on the Wellstown plan at Monday’s meeting.
