Westmoreland council adopts 2025–26 budget after brief public hearing

The Westmoreland City Council adopted the 2025–26 budget on a unanimous vote after holding a short, formal public hearing. Vice Mayor Jones moved to approve Ordinance 0052025-1, the 2025–26 budget, and the motion passed unanimously following a roll call.

The ordinance was read as part of a required public hearing. The council opened the hearing at approximately 6:10 p.m. and closed it a minute later, with no members of the public signing up to speak. "I'm gonna open up, public hearing at 06:10. Hearing on the ordinance 0 0 5 2 0 2 5 dash 1 20 25 20 26 budget," the presiding official said; the hearing was then closed with no public comments.

Karen Dunham called the roll for the final vote. The record shows votes in favor from council members present and the measure passed unanimously. The council did not record any amendments to the ordinance during the meeting.
