Hammond council approves $4.63 million in claims, adds $8,303 for homebound program

The Hammond Common Council on May 27 approved claims dated May 13 through May 21, 2025, covering claim numbers 4098 through 4498, in the amount of $4,632,345.30.

“I move for approval of claims dated 05/13/2025, and ending with claims dated 05/21/2025, claim number 4098 through claim number 4498 inclusive in the amount of $4,632,345.30,” Councilwoman Venez said when presenting the claims.

Councilwoman Venez also moved an amendment to add claim number 4499 in the amount of $8,303 for the city’s homebound program; the amendment was seconded by Councilman Spatelli. Clerk Golik recorded roll-call votes showing all nine council members voting in favor of the amendment and the claims as amended.

The council did not debate the substance of the individual claims on the record at the meeting.
