Norworth Borough officials told residents at the July 15 council meeting that a school bus camera enforcement program will begin Aug. 1; motorists who fail to stop for bus stop-arms will be captured on camera and issued a $300 citation.
A borough official said the ticket was not worth the “millisecond you gain” by bypassing stop-arms and urged drivers to obey the law to protect children. The borough asked residents to follow posted notices and indicated educational outreach has been used in recent months to publicize the paving program and other changes.
Council also reminded residents that the annual National Night Out community-police event is scheduled for Aug. 5 at Woodwood Chapel Center, with the public invited to meet local officers and discuss community policing.
These announcements were presented as public-safety and community-engagement updates rather than items requiring council action.
