Redevelopment Commission approves resolution authorizing purchase of nine police vehicles for $438,002.12

On July 22 the Maryville Redevelopment Commission approved Resolution 25-15 authorizing the police chief to purchase nine law-enforcement vehicles from Curry Motors for a total of $438,002.12.
Angie and other staff described the request as an opportunity to purchase vehicles budgeted for the police department at a lower rate than projected for the following year. Angie stated the total amount on the record and identified Chief Costas and Laurie as department contacts who worked on the purchase.
The resolution cites state procurement law (IC 5-22) and Maryville Municipal Code sections 2-135 through 2-139 as the basis for the purchase authorization; the commission recorded a roll-call vote of 4-0 in favor. Councilor Haines Edwards, Councilor Chandler Felton, Councilor Uzelak and Councilor Pettit voted yes; one member was absent.
The resolution authorizes purchase from Curry Motors and delegates procurement approval to the police chief under the cited authorities. Staff did not present purchase delivery dates or vehicle specifications during the meeting; the commission approved the resolution without further amendment.
