Power Entertainment LLC, doing business as Dewey’s Jazz Lounge, requested and received a three‑month continuance on July 23 for a review of the liquor license and outstanding tax issues related to the Dewey’s premises at 232 Worthington Street.
Manager of record Kenneth Lumpkin told the commission he has letters of intent from potential properties, including one near the MGM site, and that negotiations remain at an LOI stage. Lumpkin said he preferred to keep specific addresses confidential due to prior issues at the 232 Worthington location. He asked for additional time to secure property and a signed lease.
Commissioners agreed a three‑month continuance was reasonable given Lumpkin’s recent disruption at the prior location and his efforts to secure a new premises; the commission continued the matter to Oct. 8. Commissioners noted Lumpkin’s long-standing presence in the area and encouraged him to provide documentation at the continued hearing to demonstrate progress on relocation and tax resolution.
