Ziggy’s Jerk Center remains noncompliant after building department cease-and-desist

At an informational hearing July 23, the Liquor License Commission reviewed the compliance status of Ziggy’s Jerk Center, 436 Boston Road. Licensing staff reported the building department issued a cease-and-desist on June 13 and that reinspections showed the premises did not have the required certificate of occupancy.

No representative from Ziggy’s appeared at the hearing. Licensing staff said the business had not demonstrated progress on repairs and did not hold an occupancy permit; commissioners discussed that options were limited at an informational hearing when the licensee was not present and recommended continued enforcement by code officials to ensure the establishment does not operate without proper permits.

The commission took no formal licensing enforcement action at the July 23 meeting but directed staff to monitor compliance and noted the matter may return if the licensee seeks a hearing or repairs are completed.
