Council approves final plat for 90‑unit Villas at Dawsonville; maintenance and utility agreements recorded

The Dawsonville City Council approved the final plat July 21 for the Villas at Dawsonville, a 90‑unit development that was annexed and went through several rezonings before final plat submission.

Zoning administrative assistant Stacy Harris told the council the property was annexed March 17 and had been rezoned from R‑2 to R‑3 on Dec. 6, 2024, and later rezoned from R‑3 to RPC (removing an age‑restricted 55+ stipulation) on Feb. 6. Harris said staff and the city attorney had reviewed and confirmed that maintenance and performance bonds, covenants and restrictions, utility easements and long‑term stormwater management agreements had been recorded.

Council moved and approved the final plat as presented. The approval permits recording the subdivision plat for the 90 units and allows the developer to proceed with the next steps under the plat and recorded agreements.
