Commission defers two petitions from Crown Point LLC after notice issue

The Crown Point City Planning Commission deferred two agenda items filed by Crown Point LLC—identified in the agenda as petition 25-25 and a related petition—to the next monthly meeting after staff reported a problem with the public notice in the newspaper.

Planning staff explained the petitioner had not made an error in preparing the notice but that the published notice in the paper contained an error; to ensure compliance with notice requirements the commission concluded it should defer action so certified notices and packet materials can be corrected and finalized.

A motion to defer the petitions carried on recorded roll call. The commission confirmed the items will be placed on next month’s agenda when staff, engineering and the petitioner can provide complete materials and corrected public notice.
