The Louisiana Committee on Parole revoked the parole of Warren Green on July 16, 2025, after hearing that Green was arrested for driving under the influence and had marijuana in his system while on supervision. Chairman Danny Barra and panel members Miss LeDoux and Mr. Freeman voted to revoke Green’s parole. "He was drinking and driving. He could easily have had an accident and hurt somebody," Parole Officer Steve Everly told the panel.
The board’s decision came after staff reviewed a prior hearing and Parole Officer Everly summarized subsequent conduct, including a breath test of 0.07, a reckless operation charge reduced to reckless operation, and a reported admission by Green that he had smoked marijuana. The panel noted Supreme Court guidelines used at the earlier eligibility screening and the parole revocation questionnaire Green signed. Green told the panel he "takes full responsibility" and described personal circumstances including work and family commitments, but the panel concluded the violations merited revocation.
Panel members discussed Green’s medical marijuana card and whether that card authorized use while on supervision. Everly said parole approval was required for any marijuana use and that the card is "not recognized by the board." The hearing record shows the panel considered prior denials of transitional programs based on Green's offender status and the safety risk of operating a vehicle while impaired.
With three votes to revoke, the board ordered Green’s parole revoked. The panel recorded no alternate disposition such as referral to treatment in lieu of revocation in the hearing transcript. This concludes the Committee on Parole’s action in Green’s case for July 16.
