Board renews 28E agreement for multi‑county mental health advocate services

The Webster County Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the chair to sign a 28E agreement renewing and funding mental health advocate services shared among Humboldt, Pocahontas, Webster and Wright counties.

Kathy Erickson, who said she has served as the mental health advocate for the four counties since 2017, spoke to the board about continuity of services. "I appreciate the opportunity to serve in all of the counties," Erickson said, and asked supervisors to contact her with questions or concerns as the regional mental-health system transitions.

Erickson referenced the shift away from the previous mental health regions toward a new system under Iowa Primary Care and said she hoped to provide consistency for residents during that change.

The board approved the agreement in a roll call vote recorded as unanimous.
