Fort Bend MUD 173 will contribute up to $25,000 for Campbell Elementary playground improvements, district says

Katy ISD operations staff presented an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 173 to fund playground equipment at Campbell Elementary.

Nathan Fuchs, Senior Executive Director of Operations, told the board the MUD will contribute up to $25,000 toward miscellaneous playground equipment at Campbell Elementary and that the Campbell PTA will provide additional funding to complete the project. Fuchs said the work is scheduled for completion during the summer months and that staff asked the board to consider the interlocal agreement for approval at the regular meeting.

Trustees praised the PTA and the MUD partnership. A trustee asked whether playgrounds are open to the public; staff clarified that some district 'spark parks' are open and that campus playgrounds are generally closed during school hours and gated outside hours depending on site arrangements. The interlocal agreement will be placed on the district's consent/approval agenda for the upcoming meeting.
