Commission authorizes design solicitation for Bridge 21-D0.1; multi-year costs outlined

Miami County commissioners authorized solicitation for design bids on project 2113SB688, the replacement of Bridge 21-D0.1 on 230 Ninth Street about 600 feet east of Indianapolis Road. Project manager Matt Oler said the 2025 budget includes approximately $55,000 for survey, design and geotechnical work plus right-of-way and utility relocations. For 2026, staff presented bridge grading and construction estimates and added 10% for construction engineering, producing a total project figure that staff summarized as $498,300 for services and $443,300 to be funded from the special bridge fund in 2026 for construction. Commissioner Dideker moved to authorize solicitation; Commissioner Vickery seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
