Council approves $100,000 appropriation for income tax refunds

Chillicothe City Council on July 14 adopted an ordinance appropriating $100,000 to the income tax refund line and authorized transferring $25,000 back to the general fund to cover the proportionate share of those refunds.

The ordinance was on its third reading and was presented by the Finance and Technology Committee as item number one on the agenda. During the roll call, all recorded council members voted yes and the clerk declared the ordinance adopted.

Council Finance and Technology Committee Chair Creed reported the committee had advanced the ordinance to the full council for third reading; the council did not record amendments or additional restrictions on the appropriation during the public session.
