APC acknowledges receipt of proposed county drainage ordinance; no objections recorded

The Vermillion County Area Plan Commission reviewed a proposed storm water drainage control ordinance and formally acknowledged that members had received a copy. Staff said a county engineer had helped draft the ordinance because Fountain County lacked in‑house engineering and surveying resources.

A member moved that the commission record receipt of the proposed drainage board ordinance; another member seconded. The commission took a voice vote and members indicated they had received the document. Meeting participants noted the commission was not adopting the ordinance for the county but simply reviewing it as a courtesy before it advances to the drainage board and county commissioners. One member said amendments can follow after public review.
