Roanoke council hears HUD action-plan public hearing; decision deferred to Aug. 4

Roanoke City Council held two public hearings during its July 21 evening session; no residents signed up to speak during either hearing. One hearing related to a proposed HUD action plan; council noted that action on the HUD proposal will occur at the Aug. 4 meeting.

The transcript records that no public testimony was offered at the hearings and that the HUD action-plan item will return to council on Aug. 4 for formal action. The record does not include the substance of the HUD plan or any staff recommendations presented at the hearing.

Because no residents spoke during the hearings, council had no public comment to weigh at the July 21 session and simply scheduled the HUD action-plan decision for the next meeting date. Council does not appear to have taken any interim direction to staff regarding the HUD plan in the July 21 record.
