During staff reports to the Red Bluff Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, staff said cleanup at Forward Park is complete and the city removed 130 tons of refuse from the site.
A staff member said Division Chief Kingsley will work with Cruz to schedule fuels-reduction work in the park area. The staff update described the approach as a two-step process: first remove camps and refuse, then follow with fire-mitigation work.
Commissioners asked whether fuel-reduction work had been scheduled for Samuel Ayers and related park areas; the staff member said timing depends on cleanup completion and priority sequencing, noting the focus was to finish Forward Park first before scheduling Samuel Ayers mitigation.
The commission thanked staff for the cleanup effort and acknowledged the volume of work and manpower required to clear debris and prepare parks for mitigation work.
