At the July 28 session the Cook County Commissioners Court took several routine procurement and land-use votes.
Procurements: The court awarded FY25 road aggregate contracts (bid FY25‑03) and road oil contracts (bid FY25‑04) to all qualified vendors who submitted pricing, a practice the county uses so road projects can draw from multiple suppliers depending on geography and availability. Commissioners noted vendor availability varies by area and that awarding multiple vendors increases operational flexibility; both procurement votes passed 5–0.
Land use: The court approved a proposed Destination RV development on Lone Oak Road consisting of 59 lots; presentation materials and an engineer’s review were cited and Commissioner Snuggs moved approval, which passed 5–0. The court also approved the final plat for The Meadows subdivision in Precinct 1 (off County Road 140, southeast of Kalisburg); the final-plat approval passed 5–0. Commissioners said these items were reviewed by the county’s third-party engineer and were presented as final approvals.
All votes were unanimous. Commissioners noted that awarding multiple road vendors is a logistical decision to ensure supply across wide geographic precincts and to mitigate days when specific crushers or asphalt producers are not operating.
