PELHAM, Ala. — The Pelham Board of Education on July 28 approved a slate of personnel recommendations and several part-time employment agreements for the upcoming school year.
The board approved 12 personnel actions on the consent agenda and then considered separate part-time contracts. Among those approved were a part-time assistant athletic director contract (Aug. 1'Dec. 31, 2025), a part-time student services worker contract that includes an evaluation or monitoring component prior to renewal, a part-time child nutrition worker to assist with transition under the new child nutrition director, and a part-time custodial services agreement (Aug. 1'Dec. 31, 2025).
Superintendent Doctor Costanza said the student services contract had been revised to include the monitoring and evaluation language discussed at earlier meetings. "There's an evaluation component or monitoring component, during the time of the contract and also, at the end prior to renewal," Costanza said.
All personnel and contract items were approved by voice vote with no recorded dissent.
Why it matters: These hires and part-time contracts are positioned to support school operations and transitions ahead of the start of classes in early August; several contracts are explicitly time-limited through Dec. 31 to allow for evaluation before renewal.
