Commissioners approve routine renewals, spending resolution and disaster plan

MILLER COUNTY, Ga. — At its July 14 regular session, the Miller County Board of Commissioners approved several routine items by motion and voice vote, including two beer and wine license renewals, the annual tax assessor service contract, a spending resolution to operate under the FY2024–25 budget until the FY2025–26 budget is adopted, and signatures for a disaster recovery and redevelopment plan.
Staff said the beer and wine applicants completed fingerprints and state applications and that the sheriff had signed off on the renewals. The tax assessor contract was presented as an annual renewal and commissioners approved it without discussion.
The board also adopted Spending Resolution 25‑0709 to continue operations under the current fiscal year budget until the new FY2025–26 budget is formally adopted. Commissioners further approved an ACCG safety discount form and designated Austin as safety coordinator, allowing the county to receive a safety premium discount. Finally, the board approved signatures for a completed disaster recovery and redevelopment plan.
All items were approved by motion and affirmative voice votes; staff will execute necessary signatures and return any items that require additional review to a future meeting.
