The board approved three separate construction-related items: a professional services agreement with Fanning Holly for architect and engineering services on the high school project; a preconstruction services agreement with Robertson; and a revised quote from Majors related to the Hornet Drive project.
Superintendent Buskirk said the Fanning Holly agreement had been in development and finalized after back-and-forth review. He noted the contract amount in the board attachment is the total cost and that the attachment breaks out the district's portion and other funding sources.
On the Hornet Drive work, Buskirk explained the board previously had approved a quote, but crews encountered additional conditions that required extra excavation; the Majors revision reflects that added work. Board members discussed drainage tiles and noted crews would monitor the area and that additional rain might clear partial clogs; if not, the contractor will return to clean the system.
All three items passed on roll calls. The Fanning Holly architect agreement passed with the five board members voting yes. The Robertson preconstruction agreement and the Majors revised quote for Hornet Drive also passed by roll call with all board members voting yes.
Why it matters: the approvals move capital projects toward design and construction; the Majors revision memorializes an increased cost because of unexpected site conditions.
The board recorded no amendments to these approvals in the public transcript; staff will proceed with the contracted services.
