The City of Alpharetta on July 28 approved a temporary use permit allowing Delman Circus to hold performances on the surface parking lot between former Sears and JCPenney at Northpointe Mall (1000 Northpointe Circle) in November 2025.
Staff presentation said the circus tent would have a maximum capacity of 600 people, set up would begin Nov. 4 with shows Nov. 7–17, and performances would end by 9:30 p.m. nightly. The applicant told council Delman Circus presents human acts only (acrobatics, juggling and similar performances) and operates its own concessions comparable to a movie theater; staff noted no alcoholic beverages would be permitted as a condition.
The city’s public safety review supported the proposal and staff recommended at least two police officers per show to implement the applicant’s safety plan. Staff also recommended that the location and permitting process be reviewed annually (condition language was amended at council request to remove automatic annual renewal and leave renewal subject to staff review and permit approval).
Mario Morales, general manager at Northpointe Mall, told council he supported the event and preferred not to have automatic renewal so mall management and city staff could assess how the event performed before allowing a repeat year.
Council approved the item with changes accepting the applicant’s site plan and adding conditions that require two police officers at each performance and prohibit alcohol sales; the permit will be managed through the city’s temporary‑use permit process and may be reviewed before future renewals.
