County reviews two quotes for courthouse sewer-line replacement; staff to return with contract recommendation

Jackson County staff on July 14 presented two written quotes to replace sewer piping at the courthouse and asked the commission to defer formal approval until the next meeting.

Staff said both contractors received identical specifications and that one bidder, identified as Lehi Services (local plumber), quoted $23,950. A second bidderlisted in the packet as a plumbing/electrical contractorquoted $40,050 for the same specifications. Staff told commissioners there is no landscaping or concrete replacement included in either quote and that those finishing items would be contracted separately after excavation reveals the final needs.

Presenters told the commission that the quotes are valid for 60 days and that the expected contract time after mobilization would be about 30 days. Commissioners asked to hold formal approval until the next meeting so staff could return with final recommendation and contract documents.

No contract award or vote occurred July 14.
