Harpers Ferry, W.Va. — The Harpers Ferry Town Council approved a motion July 29 to reimburse the Appalachian Chamber Music Festival (ACMF) $2,375 for a free public concert scheduled for Aug. 8 at Harpers Ferry.
Paul (ACMF representative) and other presenters explained the event will be coordinated with the National Park Service and the Park Historic Park Association; ACMF said the request covers less than half the musicians’ and sound costs for the Harpers Ferry concert and that they had secured additional support from the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. The request presented to council reduced its earlier ask after receiving grant confirmations.
Councilmember (speaker not specified) moved to reimburse $2,375 to ACMF, with Debbie adding that the reimbursement is contingent on approval of fiscal 26 revision 1. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote 6–0.
The finance officer noted documentation will be required before any reimbursement is made. The town’s fiscal processes call for documented invoices and backup prior to disbursement.
Why it matters
The reimbursement supports a free cultural event coordinated with the National Park Service and partially funded by a regional arts grant; council approval is contingent on formal budget revision and required backup documentation.
