Conservation commission accepts $1,170 in Ghost Train race registration receipts

The Milford Conservation Commission voted to accept two separate Ghost Train race registration payments — $540 and $630 — that were reported at the June meeting.

Members said these amounts reflect rolling receipts processed twice monthly as spots open from the event wait list; commission members explained organizers put late registrants on a wait list and the commission receives money when waited‑on slots are claimed. The commission recorded voice votes for both motions and commissioners present responded “Aye.”

No additional funding allocations were approved at the meeting; members discussed the continuing flow of registrations and the generosity of runners who sometimes allow their fees to be retained when they cannot run. The commission expects additional small receipts to arrive as wait‑list slots are filled.
