Council approves hire for yard-waste site; Laura Herrick placed on labor wage scale

The council approved staff’s recommendation to place Laura Herrick at step 1 of the yard-waste site labor wage scale at $14.41 per hour.

Cole told councilors the city received an application from Herrick after turnover at the yard-waste site; staff offered the position and she accepted pending council approval. Herrick will serve as the site supervisor on Wednesdays and Saturdays; staff said city staff can fill in if she is unavailable but the city prefers not to do that regularly.

Alderman Barge moved to hire Laura Herrick on the yard-waste site wage scale; Alderman Tufte seconded the motion and the council approved the placement.
