Council places incoming ambulance director on wage scale; city prepares to assume ambulance operations

City administration announced that Wes Hall will be placed at $33.65 per hour as ambulance director while the city completes preparations to assume ambulance operations. Nicole, the city’s ambulance director (presenting), said Hall will begin as a part‑time hourly employee while remaining employed by Moody County and will perform administrative tasks needed before the city takes over ambulance operations. Nicole said the role will expand to a full‑time wage scale at the end of the year when the city finalizes staffing transfers.
Nicole outlined immediate tasks including applying for the city’s ambulance license with the state, enrolling with payors and preparing staff transitions from the county. Councilors approved the wage placement; staff noted the '25 budget does not include the ambulance director’s wages and that the city will supplement the general government budget later in the year to cover the additional payroll.
