Hearing on Perry Carrillo's restitution continued so prosecutor can try to reach victim; court allows time until 1:30 p.m.

The Bexar County court paused resolution of Perry Carrillo's restitution and early-probation-termination request on Aug. 1 to give the state additional time to contact the complainant and determine the outstanding restitution amount.

Defense counsel reported Carrillo had paid "a total of a little over $5,200" toward restitution and asked the court to excuse remaining obligations and allow early termination of probation. The state said it had tried to reach the complainant and asked for until 1:30 p.m. to attempt to obtain documentation substantiating any outstanding sums. The court granted that request and stayed the matter until 1:30 p.m., directing the parties to reconvene then.

The judge noted the original plea contained no restitution figure in the written plea-bargain agreement on file and instructed probation and prosecutors to confirm any amounts. If the complainant provided substantiation during the stay, the court planned to resolve the restitution figure that day; otherwise, the case would be managed per standard restitution and probation procedures.

The court recorded that Carrillo has completed terms of probation other than restitution-related extension and instructed Carrillo to rejoin the hearing by Zoom at 1:30 p.m. if he could. Probation officers and counsel will continue outreach to the victim to obtain medical bills or other documentation supporting any remaining restitution claim.
