Staff advances Riverside climate-action planning; energy survey and stakeholder interviews underway

Planner Siren told trustees on July 17 that staff is reviewing priorities for the Climate Action and Resilience Plan (C4) and will bring any recommended capital or operating expenses forward during the upcoming budget discussions beginning in August. An energy survey for resident participation is open, and staff will provide additional opportunities for feedback in the coming weeks.

Planner Siren said staff conducted stakeholder interviews in developing the energy plan and anticipates releasing a draft this fall. The C4 team also selected a winner of the sesquicentennial spring photo contest, which highlighted a Hauser Junior High food-composting program.

Trustees were invited to promote the energy survey and to participate in upcoming outreach opportunities; staff will incorporate community feedback as they finalize fiscal impacts for budget review.
