PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo County Board of County Commissioners on July 17 approved a funding assistance agreement with Pueblo County School District 70 to use Conservation Trust Fund lottery proceeds for outdoor recreation improvements at Pleasantview Middle School.
County staff said the funds — up to $255,000 — will be used to build pickleball courts and improve existing tennis courts on district property. The Conservation Trust Fund is Lottery revenue restricted under state law for parks, recreation and open‑space uses; staff confirmed the project qualifies. The board approved the agreement by voice vote.
County and school officials described the agreement as a partnership to expand recreational opportunities and noted that the project had been discussed with prior and current boards. No dissent or additional conditions were recorded in the meeting minutes.
