Boone County clerk Julie Bliss resigns, board announces vacancy

Boone County Clerk and Recorder Julie A. Bliss submitted her formal resignation effective July 31, 2025, the Boone County Board announced at its July 31 meeting. Chairman Carl Johnson read the resignation email into the record and said the office is now vacant.

Chairman Johnson told the board that the county will proceed “in a positive manner” and noted the clerks office has been under stress in recent years.
