Resident raises flooding concerns at solar project; county engineer to inspect

Kevin O'Dell told commissioners his backyard "is flooding really bad" after nearby solar development work and asked for the county to address drainage and inspection concerns.
Commissioners said the project's final inspection has not been completed and that the county will perform a boots-on-the-ground inspection of the site, including culverts and retention ponds, before signing off. They directed O'Dell to "stop by the county highway garage, talk to engineer Matt Holden" and give him contact information so an on-site inspection can be scheduled.
County officials reiterated that if the solar developer damaged culverts or filled ditches improperly, the developer would be responsible and that the county is holding a bond until work is completed to county standards.
