Logansport police promote K-9 officer Joseph Slosher to corporal

The Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety voted July 30 to approve the promotion of Joseph Slosher from patrolman to corporal in the Logansport Police Department.
Chief Travis Yacht submitted a promotion recommendation stating Slosher has served eight years with the department, completed a leadership essay and interview, and was selected by an oral promotion board. The chief also said Slosher is a K-9 officer, a drug-recognition expert (DRE) and an instructor for the department. The promotion was effective July 30, 2025.
Slosher told the board he appreciated the opportunity and "look[s] forward to, hopefully, doing a good job." The board voted to approve the promotion; Deputy Mayor Jacob Palmasol and Board Member Levi Jones each voted yes.
No pay scale or salary change was discussed on the record during the meeting; the approval recorded was for the promotion recommendation sent by Chief Yacht.
