Five firms submit bids for Newton Park Beach facility reconstruction RFQ

Debbie Glavin, contract specialist in procurement, announced at the RFQ opening on July 31 that the Procurement Division received five complete proposals for RFQ2511AD, the Newton Park Beach facility reconstruction project. "We have 5 bids that came in," Glavin said.
The RFQ, released July 1 and due July 31 at 12:30 p.m., solicited engineering design, construction and construction oversight services for the Newton Park Beach facility reconstruction. Glavin said the bids will go to a selection committee for ranking; the committee’s ranking meeting is scheduled for Aug. 15 at 10:30 a.m.
Glavin read the five proposers as: Plus; Chen Moore Associates; Kimberly Horn and Associates; JR Evans Engineering; and Bert Hill Polak Krieger Architects. She said each submission was complete and apologized for any mispronunciation when reading the final firm’s name.
No formal award or contract was announced at the opening. The only next step described in the meeting record was forwarding the submissions to the selection committee for evaluation and ranking on Aug. 15. The transcript did not specify funding sources, contract value, or evaluation criteria.
