Superintendent says district expects a B when 2023-24 accountability ratings are released Aug. 15

Superintendent Brown told trustees that both lawsuits affecting state accountability ratings have been resolved and that the Texas Education Agency has been instructed to release ratings. He said the 2022-23 ratings have already been released and that the 2023-24 ratings will be made public Aug. 15.

"In our own calculations, we think we're gonna be a B," Brown said. He said the district knows where its "soft spots" are and plans to work with curriculum and instruction staff to improve those areas ahead of the public release.

Brown invited trustees to review the district's internal calculations in the curriculum report and said staff can provide more detail, including district performance on "masters, meets, approaches" and "did not meet" categories, and noted that targeted work is planned to address weaknesses.

No formal targets, remediation plans, or numerical performance details beyond those descriptions were included in the public remarks recorded in the meeting.
