County names employees of the month; HR highlights security software work

At the Aug. 1 meeting the board recognized employees of the month. Christopher Smith presented the nominations for the HR item, saying the July 2 employee-of-the-month nominations were for "Dane Coffey and Chris." Smith described work by Chris that county staff called critical: "This last month, he brought up a very important piece of security software under a very difficult deadline to get it done so that, salvage our insurance. So it's pretty important. So for that, we are proud to nominate Chris," Smith said.

The presiding commissioner moved to approve the employee nominations; a motion and second were recorded and the board approved the recognition by voice vote. Afterward the presiding commissioner thanked the employees and asked whether anyone wanted a picture.
