Pleasant View PTO donates $3,095 in rubberized mats for school Gaga pit; committee accepts donation

The Sheffield City Committee on July 24 accepted a donation of rubberized mats from the Pleasant View Elementary PTO to improve the school's Gaga pit surface.

Deb, the PTO treasurer, told the committee the PTO received a quote for 40 mats that will cover about 650 square feet and cost $3,095 including shipping. The mats have drainage holes, will be connected with zip ties and staked around the perimeter; the donor said installation could be performed by volunteers or by a facilities crew if the committee prefers. Each mat weighs about 28 pounds and the shipment arrives on a tractor-trailer with a lift gate.

The committee approved the donation by voice vote and asked staff to coordinate delivery and placement so the mats arrive and are installed before school starts.
