The commission agreed to hold public input sessions for the NSP rate case on Thursday, Oct. 9, with one session over lunch and another in the evening to accommodate public comments. Staff said historically the commission holds a midday session around noon and an evening session around 5 to 5:30 p.m.; the commission asked staff to use historically used times when issuing notices.
The commissioners also agreed to place Xcel Energy's filing about an Eastern North Dakota generation requirement (case noted in the transcript as case 24342) in an informal slot on Sept. 24. A staff participant described that Xcel had filed a supplemental filing with an alternative plan and preferred Sept. 24 for an informal discussion.
Separately, commissioners discussed moving a regular commission meeting to the 20th or 21st of a month and settling informal scheduling for other meetings (preferences and specific dates were discussed but handled as administrative scheduling among members). The commission noted the RSC education session and other calendar conflicts when weighing availability and said they would finalize scheduling offline.
No substantive rulings on the NSP rate case or Xcel's filing were made in the administrative session; the transcript records only scheduling decisions for public input sessions and informal slots.
