Board tables train project development agreement pending more information

TONGANOXIE, Kan. — The Tonganoxie USD 464 Board of Education on Aug. 11 voted to table action on the proposed train project development agreement while staff gathers additional information.
A board member said there was a desire to obtain “a little bit more information before we publish or before we move forward with the train project development agreement” and moved to table the item. The motion to table passed unanimously, 5-0.
Why it matters: Tabling preserves the district’s option to consider the agreement at a later date once staff presents more details. The board did not adopt or reject the proposal; no commitments were made in open session.
What’s next: Staff will gather requested information and return to the board at a future meeting if appropriate.
