Committee recommends appointment and reappointment to local drainage districts

The Law and Justice, EMA and Facilities Committee recommended two drainage-district appointments to the full Grundy County Board on June 4, 2025.
A motion to recommend the appointment of John Darcy to the Main Township Drainage and Levee District was made by Doug and seconded by Harold; members voiced approval and the motion carried. The committee also voted to recommend the reappointment of Russ Higgins to the South Third Drainage District on a motion by Greg, seconded by Josh; the motion carried by voice vote.
The actions were procedural recommendations to the full county board; no substantive debate about the appointees’ qualifications or district policy was recorded beyond the motions and the voice votes. Committee members asked whether anyone had questions when Russ Higgins was introduced; no questions were raised.
The recommendations will proceed to the full county board for final action.
