Mariposa supervisors add closed session to consider filling Development Services Director post; direction given

Mariposa County Board of Supervisors members voted 5-0 on Aug. 11 to add an urgency item to the agenda and hold a closed session under Government Code section 54957(b)(1) to consider filling the Development Services Director position.

The board added the item after a request by the presiding official at the start of the special meeting. Board member Miles moved to add the urgency item; a second was recorded and the chair called the vote. “All in favor, please say aye,” the presiding official said; the motion carried 5-0.

The board then opened public comment; no members of the public spoke. The board went into closed session and later reported out at the meeting’s end that on the matter of the position to be filled “information was received and direction given.” The report did not identify the candidate, any employment terms, or further personnel details.
