County accepts Daphne Bailey's retirement; two positions to be posted

County officials on Aug. 11 announced that Daphne Bailey will retire effective Sept. 15 and said they will post her positions, including a business manager role and a WIC Community Health Worker, to fill responsibilities such as open enrollment and insurance-signup assistance.

One participant said they had received Bailey’s retirement letter and that the county will post the job this week, including the financial position. The meeting included praise for Bailey’s community service and several speakers noted the complexity of replacing her duties, specifically citing open-enrollment and insurance-signup programs she manages.

The board discussed planning a reception to recognize Bailey’s service and noted that department staff are working to separate and post her duties so services continue without interruption.

Next steps: the county will post the two job descriptions and begin recruitment; staff will work on transition planning so open-enrollment and insurance-assistance services continue through the change in personnel.
