Council votes to add agenda item to advise on police chief vacancy; formal direction reserved for regular meeting

At the June 17 technical review meeting, Mesquite councilors voted to add an agenda item to the upcoming regular City Council meeting to consider “directions to give to staff regarding filling the position of the police chief.”

“I just wanna add an item to discuss what advice we wanna give miss Green as far as the direction we wanna go with our police department,” Councilmember Paul said, proposing the item. Councilmember Paul moved to add the item; another councilmember seconded the motion.
